EXPERIENCE
COVER LETTER
To whom it may concern,
I am looking for the position related to Automation and Robotic Engineering, and I am confident that my education and skills meet your requirements.
I gained the Master degree majoring in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Manitoba. I have four years of work experience as a Manufacturing Engineer with robotic specialty. My experience includes industrial robot programming, robotic GMAW production, CAD model design, product quality inspection, and continues improvement. I also have solid working knowledge of PLC application.
I’m currently working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an agriculture equipment manufacturer. My main duties include robot programming and welding fixture design. I can create programs of robotic welding by using ABB robot and Motoman Robot. I designed welding fixtures and other required tooling by using Solidworks. I participated in PLC system installations and verification, and I’m also focusing on improving my abilities of PLC system development. I registered and finished the training courses provided by Realpars (realpars.com). For productivity improvement, I did lean thinking and value stream mapping in my daily work. Currently, I’m managing two fabricators for fixture assembly and several robot operators with the duties of the program running. I also provide technical support and troubleshooting for the whole production team.
I worked as a Manufacturing Engineer- Robotics Specialty in a coach manufacturer. My main duty is ABB robot programming and related troubleshooting. I learned Robot Studio by myself to do offline programming. I used AutoCAD and Inventor for production tooling design, such as jigs and waterjet fixtures. I had trained using CMM machine to check product deviations for quality assurance purpose. My work also includes providing technical support to production (such as blueprint and GD&T reviewing), productivity improvement and writing SOP.
I worked as a team leader of inventory auditors. I am responsible for managing a staff team, training, and supporting staff members, allocating and ensuring that service standards are met.
In the period of my graduate study, I worked as a Process Engineer founded by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority to enhance the operation efficiency of local Emergency Departments. My work was applying industrial techniques and lean manufacturing to maximize patient throughput. The treatment of arrival patients can be recognized as the production in a manufacturing process. I have the experience to design and estimate improvement alternatives considered from facility layout, staff roster and process modification. Besides, I have the ability of discrete-event simulation modeling by using Flexsim. It enhances the efficiency of bottleneck identification and alternative strategy estimation.
My education, working experience, and skills will enable me to fix the position quickly. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you. Please contact me at (204) 894-7172 or email me at braden.zhao@outlook.com.
